Team Discovery is a company that believes in supporting the local community, charities and organisations that have little or no funding. We do this by providing free of charge hosting services, developing websites, training and generally anything that can help to make the community a better place. Some of our recent projects are listed below.

Project name Purpose Website link
Silverlands Action Campaign
The Home office proposed a use of a local Nurses home for a use which the community objected very strongly to. This website was provided to the action team to help communicate to anyone concerned. At the peak of the campaign we had 2008 visitors to the site in Nov. 2001. The campaign was successful with an agreement to not use the building for the proposed use. The website remains as a reminder of the successful campaign.
Home Start Runnymede
This is a local charity that provides home visits to local families who are facing difficulties and have at least one child under 5. The Manager of the Charity is Liz Fox who has been very pleased with the support. She can be contacted on 01932-568874.
Warwick Leadership Foundation
The WLF is a charitable trust created by, and having the ongoing personal involvement of The Lord Taylor of Warwick. WLF's mission is to gather resources together for the provision of: ethical and inspirational leadership, support and advice to develop leadership skills in disadvantaged communities. We have provided the data driven website, hosting and ongoing support to develop the site as we fully recognise the importance of identifying potential leaders early on.
Christ Church parish church Virginia Water
A new Vicar arrived in the parish in 1998 and got interested in using the web to communicate to the communicate. We were experimenting with the concept of a community website and had already purchased hosting services. We offered the Church hosting, support, training and some development to get started. The site is now maintained by the Vicar himself.

University of the Third Age (U3A)
U3A is not really a University but a focused organisation that encourages life long learning for retired people. After talking with some leaders Peter Gaskin got involved and spent 4 terms, 2 hours per week, teaching retired people about the Internet. This was most rewarding and revealing in understanding the usefulness of the Internet to the silver surfers. The oldest student was 80, and despite the challenges of using a login and password persevered and shocked her son in Japan by starting to email him on a weekly basis.

St Michael & All Angels Sunninghill
After the success of the Christ Church Virginia Water website other churches have become interested as well. So, among others, we have helped the Parish in Sunninghill get up and running at well. We provide the hosting free of charge, training, general guidance of how to best use the site.
